about

Follow that Flying Dove [1989] – 1989 is undoubtedly a unique and different year throughout the 1900s, and yet another in the line of important milestones. It is probably the first and only time in world history such a radical political revolution that took place just then, with the fall of the Berlin Wall, has not been the result of any form of armed conflict. This real community song reflects in some way the spirit of total change right then, in complete peace and consensus.

lyrics

FOLLOW THAT FLYING DOVE [1989]

music and lyrics: Armand Gutheim

Suddenly, a glimpse of hope
when we tear down that hated wall
Finally, we all will cope
with a life that should be a ball

chorus - - -
So we follow that flying dove
in the sky above
for peace and love

Suddenly, we see the light
after years in a darker place
Finally, a hopeful sight
with a new world so full of grace

chorus - - -

Suddenly, we can sing of joy
for a future with no more war
Finally, no one will destroy
these new times with an open door

chorus - - -

choir - - -
We’re together in this only world
We will never ever let it cease!
We’re together when we sing these words
All we want is to live in peace!

chorus - - -
